Kellogg/US-54 Expansion

Announcements for the IKE Highway improvement Program were made on March 8, 2024. 

Phase 1 project (K-96 to Onewood Dr) is in engineering for construction to begin in quarter four of 2025. Right of way acquisitions are ongoing.

Phase 2 project (Onewood Dr. to Prairie Creek Rd) is in engineering. 

Phase 2 was showcased during an open house in November 2022. Please note: this map represents the preliminary phase, and any changes or updates might not be reflected. SEE MAP

The Phase 1 Project is at Right of Way Acquisition status. KDOT Eminent domain proceedings are in progress, but behind schedule. Only a portion of the affected property owners have received acquisition offers. The Project was bid December 17, 2025. A local coalition of contractors was the low bidder. The Preconstruction Conference with the contractor is scheduled for February 17, 2026. Work will begin soon around the K-96/KTA Interchange. The approval of the Phase 2 design concept has been pushed to Q2 - 2026. 

Founder's Parkway backage road - Allen St. to Andover Rd.

The Andover Rd to Sunflower Ln. Project right-of-way acquisitions are complete for construction. Bid opening is February 17, 2026. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026. 

Founders Parkway Construction Phasing 

• The roadway from Onewood to Andover Rd. is officially open as of September 12, 2025.  Founder’s Parkway will run from Onewood Drive to Andover Road, right behind Buffalo Ridge Apartments and Braum’s. Thanks for your patience while we wrapped up this project.

• In early 2026, it will keep going, connecting in front of Taco Bell and leading right into The Heritage (near Yorktown & Kellogg). That part should wrap up by the end of 2026.


Yorktown Parkway  - Central to 13th Street 

Paving around the BCC campus is completed. Pearson Construction is now working on tie-ins of paving, curbs and gutter, and sidewalks. Completion of construction early in 2026 is still expected to occur. Work on the water, sewer, and storm sewer for the Vista Ridge 2nd Addition is well underway. A second underground crew has begun on the sanitary sewer in the Vista Ridge 1st Addition. The residential subdivision improvements are scheduled for completion later in the Spring '26.

Founders Parkway - Andover Rd to Sunflower  

Construction of Founders Pkwy – Andover Rd to Sunflower bids soon and construction shortly thereafter. An open house will be held once the contractor is selected.
